Virat Kohli said his batsmen need to now step up after his bowlers scripted a historic Test win for India
Kohli said he was happy with the Adelaide win vs Australia but he wanted to win the series
Kohli said it was important for India to stay calm in what was a closely fought Test match

In Australia, India were not going to let up. Despite a poor start - India had lost their top four for 41 - on Day 1 of the Adelaide Test, Kohli's men knew they had to stay on and fight. And Cheteshwar Pujara stepped up. So did the bowlers - R Ashwin, Japsprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami were spectacular.

India managed 250 in the first innings and still finished with a slender 15-run lead. Kohli played a slow and steady knock in the second innings Pujara top scored with 71 again while Rahane cracked a fluent 70. Australia were set 323 to win and they looked out of the game fairly early before a lower order resurgence gave India a real scare.

However, Ashwin struck moments before tea on the final day and the Indian fielders were thrilled.
