प्राचीन सभ्यताओं, धर्म, समाज और संस्कृतियों का महान देश भारत वैसे भी रहस्य और रोमांच के लिए जाना जाता है। एक ओर जहां भारत में दुनिया की प्रथम भाषा संस्कृत का जन्म हुआ तो दूसरी ओर दुनिया का प्रथम ग्रंथ ऋग्वेद लिखा गया। एक और जहां दुनिया की प्रथम लिपि ब्राह्मी लिपि का जन्म हुआ तो दूसरी ओर दुनिया के प्रथम विश्वविद्यालय नालंदा और तक्षशिला की स्थापना हुई।
प्राचीन भारत में एक ओर जहां अगस्त्य मुनि ने बिजली का आविष्कार किया था तो हजारों वर्ष पूर्व ऋषि भारद्वाज ने विमानशास्त्र लिखकर यह बताया था कि किस तरह विमान बनाए जा सकते हैं। गुरुत्वाकर्षण का सिद्धांत जहां भास्कराचार्य ने ईजाद किया था तो वहीं कणाद ऋषि को परमाणु सिद्धांत का जनक माना गया है। एक ओर जहां सांप-सीढ़ी का खेल भारत में जन्मा दो दूसरी ओर शतरंज का आविष्कार भी भारत में ही हुआ। आचार्य चरक और सुश्रुत को श्रेय जाता है प्लास्टिक सर्जरी चिकित्सा की खोज का। पाणिणी ने दुनिया का पहला व्याकरण लिखा था। ज्यामिति, पाई का मान, रिलेटिविटी का सिद्धांत जैसे कई सिद्धांत और आविष्कार हैं, जो भारत ने गढ़े हैं।
एक लड़का जिसके लिये गणित दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी मुसीबत थी। वह एक ऐसे तिलिस्म में फंस जाता है जो गणितीय समीकरणों पर आधारित था।
अब गणित उसके लिये जिंदगी और मौत का सवाल बन चुकी थी।

MAYAJAAL is the story for those who love mathematics, and for those who hate mathematics.
It is a travel of fascinating numeric world. This world is situated in a parallel universe across a pointless wormhole. Here some miraculous things are seen; say a cubic monster, a Unitary Ghost and yes, an arithmetic witch. They are making together a dangerous topology. Here situated a valley of complex numbers surrounded by mountain of triangles whose height goes to infinity and depth tends to zero. Here situated some open houses of quadratic equations in the closed colony of an algebraic system. Some numeric creatures reside in these houses; those are actually the real spirits of lifeless numbers of some other dimensions. Among these spirits some are angels of angles seems to be very beautiful but some ugly demons of denominators specially zero too are walking in the field.
