Chapter :1 - Forget and Forgive

"There she is!!!!The new lady of the house!!!" Someone spoke at Rahul while he watched his father and new step mom getting married surrounded by gleeful people.Everyone was so happy that day, except Rahul ofcourse.

10 years have passed since then, Rahul couldn't stand Shilpa that day, he can't stand her even now, years haven't made him any kinder towards her.
He knows in his heart what his ruthless father did to get inside his step mom, but nobody payed any heed to the wailing of a 12 years old toddler back then.

" Rahul beta breakfast is ready. Hurry up or you are gonna be late for your college. Mahesh darling you too come downstairs. " Shilpa's honeydew voice enters Rahul's ear only to bitter his mind further.
Rahul responds with equally eloquent courtesy " Thank you Mom. I will be there soon."
As much as Rahul despises Shilpa but he knows his dad better, the only person Rahul fears cause he knows what his dad is capable of.

Chapter 2 : The chain of command

Asish's hand froze while browsing phone gallery, everytime he watches her face he feels like crying,an old picture of him, Rekha and Mahesh.
They all belonged in same college, Asish was 3 years junior to rest of the two.
He had a massive crush on Rekha despite being younger than her and Rekha married Mahesh in future.
Asish made peace with that fact later in life, later when he himself became much ambitious person, an innocent hearted Rekha would have been a bad companion for the rest of his life.
Although there was a nasty rumour circulating back then that Mahesh had something to do with Rekha's untimely death but the police investigation declared Mahesh not guilty.
Soon he heard Mahesh remarried some gorgeous beauty, he didn't attend the marriage ceremony in fact he does not attend any kind of grand ceremony,not even company functions. He is a very private person and crowd bores him extremely.
He is a person who knows what he wants, very singular minded and industrious.
Looking at the picture makes Asish sad not cause of Rekha is dead but cause it reminds him of how naive he was back then, how soft hearted and a complete idealist. Rekha found that self of him so cute in her words, the picture pains him cause he murdered that former gullible self of his and from that bloodbath he rebulit a persona who is completely opposite of what Rekha was fond of.
"May I come in Sir?" Mahesh enquired.
But his new avtar payed off well, despite being much younger than Mahesh, Asish is his current boss.
Asish locks the phone screen and gesture Mahesh towards the seat in front of him.

" Why?" Asish looks sternly at Mahesh.

" What do you mean?" a puzzled Mahesh asks.

" Why did you not inform us before giving the final quote?" Asish grit his teeth.

" I thought that much amount was enough to outbid other companies" Mahesh promptly reply.

"You were specifically instructed to consult your superiors before sanctioning the quote amount" - Asish slaps the arm chair lightly to exert his seriousness.

" But I was said I couldn't use more than 2 crore fund" a callous Mahesh reply ignoring the gravity of the situation.

"How stupid are you?2 crore for that massive project? That 2 crore was given to bribe the officers so that they can reveal the quote amount of other companies. Your job was to notify us about the quoting amount of other companies so that we can outbid them even if we quote only 1 rs more than them " infurated Asish informs.

" Bribe the officials? What are you talking about? "Asish's reply baffled Mahesh.

" Yes you imbecile" Asish lash out.

" But nobody said that directly to me, like you are doing it now"the whip of sarcasm must have hurt Mahesh as he bitterly speaks out.

"The blunder from your part clearly demands a thorough clarification about bribing lesson now. If we knew you are so dumb we wouldn't have chose you as our go between guy in the first place. You were given the responsibility cause we knew you have no problem with under the table deals"Asish has a keen eye of turning someone's negative traits in favour of himself and in this case for the gain of the company.

" Yeah ofcourse,I am ballsy enough to take such crooked path." an agiated Mahesh responds.

" Clearly you got the balls but not the brains." Asish's tongue doesn't held back the amount of displeasure he has felt regarding this bizarre ordeal.

"I am sorry for that but careful now Asish, just because you are my boss, it doesn't mean..." Mahesh has had enough of this.
Asish interrupts Mahesh " That's right you dumb fuck, I am your boss and that means I can speak to you anyway I want after you cost us a lucrative deal, on the other hand next time you try to get upper hand I will sack you for insubordination. Now get your sorry ass out of my office and hide your dumb face somewhere else. "

A furious Mahesh gets up immediately and pull the door.

For one last time Asish couldn't help to add salt to Mahesh's injury now that the door is open " Check Your mail, I have sent the grocery list. Consider it a first installment of the compensation you owe your company"

Asish look at insulted face of the Mahesh and the giggling employees outside his office.
It was time for Mahesh to learn about chain of commands from Asish long he has milked Asish for favour just cause they scored some beer in college.

Chapter 3: Who is the rotten one?


"Rahul home?" Mahesh enquired.

Shilpa notices the obvious agitation in Mahesh's behaviour and offer her help to untie his tie.

They dine quietly, not once Mahesh ask about the whereabouts of Rahul again.

Finally while shilpa found her husband in their bed a curious Shilpa asks " Come on now, spit it out. If you don't, the poison will bring you more agony. Don't fight it alone, we promised we will fight everything together."putting her soft hands on Mahesh's chest.

" That little twat. That smug faced twat... How dare he? "Mahesh roars.

Shilpa tries to find out the person behind Mahesh's frustration " Who? Rahul? ", her stepson has played the role of culprit for most times in the past.

Mahesh astonishes" Not that twat. Asish, my boss. You know he used to kiss my boot so that he can hangout with Rekha in college. Neither she ever met Asish, he was always absent from company functions and events. She heard he is a very private, unsociable person. The company tolerates such behaviour of Asish cause he is very good at his job, some says the best.

Mahesh push Shilpa aside " Your words of wisdom is not bringing any joy to me."

Their eyes locked, it seemed to Shilpa both reminiscing about Rekha incident .

Mahesh never admitted to Shilpa about the truth, he never speaks about it. But Shilpa has heard other rumours , she knows Mahesh inside out and well aware of what he is capable of.

"Mam, you sent for me?" Asish knocks holding the door open to get attention of his Ceo.

Priyanka Trivedi looks up with an expressionless face " Yes Asish come on in. We need to discuss about the opportunity you and your team missed"

Asish smile triumphantly " I took our offer to their biggest competetion who happens to hold equal share of market just like them. It's perfectly competitive market and our new friends are very eager to honour our deal as soon as possible"

Priyanka responds with a warm smile " That's what I like about You Asish. You never give up. I will inform the legal department to meet their lawyers to discuss terms and conditions. Your team should spearhead the operation, I promise you my support in the board meeting, it will be just a formality ."

"Thanks for having faith in me" Asish politely responds.

*ring ring ring ring* Asish's phone buzzes.

"Hold on a second Mam"

Priyanka opens up a bottle of wine behind her desk, office hour is almost over " Want some?"

Asish refuses " No thank you, It dulls my senses,I am still at work"

"Alright. But a broomstick? You are torturing the poor guy" an amused Priyanka comments sipping her wine.

Asish chuckled " It's necessary. He used to study in my college, a senior. Still thinks he holds some kinda authority over me and all his follies will be forgiven just for that."

Priyanka harden her face " Yes people like that must be put in their respective places. I hope he doesn't file a complaint over you misusing your power. "

Asish smiles" A man who didn't able to secure a single promotion since he joined the company knows that out there nobody is gonna give him a job now. One hard look at his C. V will close every single door. "

Priyanka exclaims" How come such incompetent person still alive in our company? "

Chapter 5 : The proposal



"A bloody broom stick!!!!!That sick little twat!!! Kaal ka launda mujhse jharu kharidwaya!!!!Can you believe it?".

Even Shilpa shares the same agony of her husband now, she can't be on the same boat with the losing person, her husband must win, she can't be the joke in the company parties.

Shilpa snarls" Pay him back then."

Asish exclaims" How?. My position is so vulnerable in the company right now after I debauched that deal. That little twat is currently hailed as a hero now by successfully turning the table around by finding another buyer. "

Shilpa says" If I were in your position, I would have brought him down on his kness"

Mahesh " The files are ready Sir".

Asish toys with Mahesh meekly " And what about the broom stick?"

Mahesh holds his anger inside and with a smiling face politely says " That too Sir"

Asish isn't pleased at the look of Mahesh's mug.

" Today during lunch you will go to Gas station and book my gas cylinder ." Asish instructs.

Mahesh was anticipating such kinda orders but he doesn't let Asish to know that he is man with a plan.

Mahesh feigns an exclamatory response " But You could do it yourself by just calling the Indane/Bharat/Hp whichever service provider you have subscribed."

Asish is no fool, he is doing that since he is living alone, he came prepared he threw his gas booklet on the table " I want you to do it.Consider it a training on how to enhance your social skills. "

Mahesh picks up the booklet and says" Sure thing Sir"

But he doesn't leave the office at once.

Asish looks up " Time is money, Mahesh. I know you have a tendency to lose both but not on my watch anymore. Go now."

Mahesh asks " Sir, It is not my place to say but still I like to suggest something as an elder brother to a younger bother."

An impatient Asish doesn't have time for this kinda sentiment so he says" Get on with it quickly then. "

Mahesh says" I have been doing your groceries for past 2 days. Now today you are asking me to book your gas cylinder "

Asish is all up for a resistance from Mahesh, he is ready for another lecture" Yes what of it? "

A failed Mahesh opens the door and outside all those eager faces of employees staring at both of them hoping to get their daily dose of amusement for the shake of office gossip.

And Asish couldn't resist it, he just capre diemed that moment and loudly speaks at Mahesh " That was a great proposal bhaiya. Why don't you call up the servant agency and hier a maid servant for me!!!"

The employees burst into laughter, everone of them in past at some point was victim of their boss's anger so they don't lose any chance to get the laughter out of other's misery.

Chapter 6 : The Plan



As soon as Shilpa opens the door, a cheerful Mahesh hugs shilpa tightly " Yes yes, I did it"

Shilpa anxiously asks " So is he dead?"

Mahesh holds shilpa 's arm looking at her face " What? God no!!! I came up with a plan"

Mahesh closes the door and grab shilpa by her tiny waist.

Shilpa giggles " You are in good mood today. So how did you subdue this annoying boss of yours?"

While they climb together in unison Mahesh says " I didn't. Not yet. But I know how to."

Shilpa, embracing her husband with her hand while walking " Tell me about it.Tell me the reason why are you so giddy up to let go of your whining self!!! "

They enter their room upstairs" But Shilpa, I need your help. "

Mahesh anxiously tells shilpa " You have to be Asish's maid servant. "

Shilpa still didn't figure out what response she should give her husband,thousands of thoughts is crossing her mind right now.

She recalls two other incidents.

One of which happened during diwali shopping, their shopping bill were outrageous. Mahesh haggled a lot but couldn't make much difference, Shilpa insisted that she might be able to decrease the amount.

"Sir, I have solved the maid problem." Mahesh gladly informs Asish.

Asish who is looking at today's stock market reluctantly asks " What maid?"

Mahesh " You instructed me to find a maid for you."

Asish " Did I?" he prefers to do his own works, it keeps him busy.

Mahesh" Yes Sir.I have chosen several prospects for the job. Should I send them to your house in the evening? "

That grabs Asish's attention

Asish looks at Mahesh " I don't even interview rookies for my team. There is H. R department for that. You really think I have the time and enthusiasm to interview bunch of house maids? "

Mahesh apologises" Sorry Sir. I will conduct the interview myself. What are your requirements? "

When Asish ordered Mahesh to find the maid, he only said it to make fun of Mahesh,he has no intention to recruit one. Slience is his favourite music, his penthouse is his sanctuary, one more person there will ruin both of those.

An irritated Asish wants to close the matter once and for all.

Insults burn Mahesh inside, he is an engineer not a waiter.

He gets out of the office and goes directly to the back stairs to call shilpa.

" Hello, darling have you decided yet?!! " Mahesh enquired, everything is depending on his eyecandy wife now.
