If you don't want to write the story further on your own, it's completely fine.
Maybe you are not in the mood to write or stuck in some important work, it's justified. Everything is okay.
But just don't tell the lie, don't give false hope to readers. You came after months saying that update will come on 4 may, that didn't happen. You come online daily but even don't reply to comments.
No one can obligate you to write, but you should also not play with readers.
