Richard Madley will not be a part of the Indian Premier League Auction for the first time. It came out as a shock to many when Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that they are replacing ever-present IPL auctioneer from this year. After all, he had been the voice of the IPL auctions for more than 10 years and fans had got used to his presence. But this time, he will not be the one slamming the hammer down and announcing ‘sold’. This year, Britain’s Hugh Edmeades will be the one conducting the auction on December 18th in Jaipur.
