UPDATE 1
Those Golden Days (Masi’s Relative Girl’s Story)
Heated argument with mom n dad
Is it easier for a guy to stay away from home for months, who is preparing for CA. The reply is “Big No”, not possible. But sometimes we can’t make our parents understand our problems. They take it as we don’t obey them. My masi lives in a small town of Haryana. Masi tried a lot to conceive but she couldn’t become mother. So there were only Masi and masad in their house. Masad owned a General Store which was in the form of Show room and he had almost 5-6 Salesmen and a peon cum office boy.
Once mom got call from masi, who told her that my masad had a heart attack. It was very shocking news for us because there wasn’t anyone to look after other than masi. So I and mummy rushed to the city where masad was admitted. I took up my duty and relieved masi. I discussed with doctors who told me that masad was needed to stay there at least for a week. I asked him to do the things, which are necessary for masad’s health. My brother and papa also arrived. We were sitting there and waiting for his tests when masi started conversation with mom saying Mani (Manik) is needed to stay at my home and he is supposed to look after the show room, because he doesn’t go to a specific job and does his studies from home. It was more shocking for me than my uncle’s heart attack, because masi thought that I was jobless, because she wasn’t able to understand what I was doing staying at home. I give a signal to mom that she must not accept masi’s offer.
I mom brother and Papa were in the canteen now and mom dad were convincing me to stay at masi’s home to sit at the show room. I tried to convince them that I can’t do my studies and the showroom work simultaneously. But they were not ready to listen to me. Finally, when I was not getting ready, mom played her trump car, what if he had been your papa, would you have decided this? I surrendered, because I was unable to make them understand. I went home back, packed my luggage and went to masi’s house to stay for an undefined period. Now I needed to convince myself that I have to cop up with this situation and had to do my studies in this atmosphere only.
My mom was also with me. She was going to stay with me until masi, masad came. I studied till late night, but had to wake up early because I had to go to show room. I got ready and went to the show room. The guys at show room were well known to me but there was a girl who didn’t identify me. Other guys gave her my introduction and she wished me good morning. They all asked me about uncle’s condition, I told them everything. They prayed to God for his early recovery and everyone started their work.
I went to home during the lunch time. I sat on chair to have lunch. When I received my lunch the person serving was not my mother. I raised my face to look who she was. Oh she was my masi’s Nanad’s daughter, Nitika. We called her Niti. During my childhood whenever we would go to masi home during our vacations, most of the times she was also there. I had seen her last five years ago. Then she was a little girl but now she was grown up. When I stuck to her face, she blushed. She greeted me and I greeted her in return.
Mom told me that she was also going to stay there for some time. It gave me some relief, because I attracted to her even at the first sight. But I noticed that she didn’t like I saw her like that. I told myself not to see again like that.
