Let me explain why verification exists in the first place, and what it actually does behind the scenes.
The Reason for verification: The forum is constantly targeted by automated bots that try to flood posts with spam, phishing links, or even malicious code. Without a barrier, these bots can overwhelm the site, degrade performance, and expose members to unsafe content. Verification is the shield that keeps human interaction meaningful.
What verification does: It’s essentially a test to distinguish real users from automated scripts. Think of CAPTCHAs, reCAPTCHA, or similar checks — they ask you to solve a puzzle or click a box that’s easy for a human but hard for a bot. This prevents fake accounts and mass spam from slipping through.
Why latency happens: Every time the verification runs, it adds a small delay because the system has to process the challenge. If bot traffic is heavy, the system may tighten checks, which unfortunately makes the experience feel slower for genuine users.
